CURSOS ANDINALINK 2019
Technological Update Course 1
CENTRAL THEME: ADDING VALUE TO INTERNET SERVICE
We are living as never before a competition between different Telecommunications Operators that using different platforms and technologies offer Internet access service. 30 years ago we had a vertical structure of differentiated networks for services and today we have a "transversal structure" where the different operators become ISPs = Internet Service Providers. This is how we are now competing Cable Companies, Telephone and wireless or WISP. A new stage of this process of evolution that we call "ISP Convergence".
The idea of this seminar is to analyze the multiple platforms available to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each one so we can prepare to operate a "Single Converged Network", strong> Also to be able to add VALUE to the Internet service we will have to be able to evolve from ISPs to DSPs by becoming "Digital Service Providers".
Aimed at: strong> Every Telecommunications operator or ICT Service Provider

CENTRAL THEME: FROM INTERNET PROVIDERS TO DIGITAL SERVICES PROVIDERS
|10:30 Hrs– 11:30 Hrs|| CONVERGENCE ISP |
Analysis of the different platforms and access technologies. Strengths and weaknesses of each one.
|11:30 Hrs - 12:30 Hrs|| ARCHITECTURES DISTRIBUTED VS CENTRALIZED ARCHITECTURES |
The new distributed architectures seek to bring the content closer to the client. We avoid large concentrations of equipment in headers and data centers.
|12:30 Hrs – 13:15 Hrs|| EXTENDING THE BROADBAND = NEW NETWORKS UP TO 1200 MH |
You need to offer higher internet speeds growing year after year. This requires expanding the bandwidth of our distribution networks.
|13:15 Hrs – 14:15 Hrs|| LUNCH |
|14:15 Hrs– 15:15 Hrs|| INSTALLATION OF THE CONNECTED HOUSE |
We have never paid attention to installation inside houses before. Today they become the weakest link and it is critical for new services.
|15:15 Hrs – 16:15 Hrs|| IP TELEVISION FROM PRINCIPLE TO END |
The linear distribution of TV is doomed to disappear. The client requires more interactivity, chooses what to see and on what device.
|15:15 Hrs – 16:15 Hrs|| BREAK |
|16:30 Hrs– 17:30 Hrs|| PLATFORMS FOR IOT APPLICATIONS |
More and more devices require Internet access We will analyze different communication protocols and interoperability requirements.
|17:30 Hrs– 18:30 Hrs|| SMART HOUSE |
We should not only think about internet and television. We must differentiate ourselves from the competition by being disruptive in our offer.

GUARANTEEING THE CONNECTIVITY FROM END TO EXTREME
|09:00 Hrs -10:00 Hrs|| CONNECTIVITY AS A DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION BASE |
* What is the Digital transformation?
|10:00 Hrs -10:45 Hrs|| ACCESS ARCHITECTURE DISTRIBUTED (DAA) |
The almost insatiable appetite for consumer bandwidth (Ultra HD Video, OTT Services, etc.) requires that most service providers evolve their networks from a centralized architecture to one that distributes many of the functions that are now available. they find in the headers or distribution centers to the ends of their networks.
|10:45 Hrs -11:30 Hrs|| LOCALIZATION OF NOISE IN THE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL PLANT USING TRADITIONAL AND PROACTIVE NETWORK MAINTENANCE TOOLS (PNM) |
Fusion of technologies to locate the entrance of noise of difficult detection
|11:30 Hrs - 11:45 Hrs|| Cofee Break |
|11:45 Hrs - 12:30 Hrs|| EXTENDING THE COVERAGE OF WI-FI IN THE HOME WITH INTELLIGENT WAY WITH EASYMESH |
The Wi-Fi Alliance has created the WI-FI CERTIFIED Easy Mesh program. This program is used to validate Wi-Fi Gateways and extensor devices that implement the Multi-AP specification. This defines technologies to create home Wi-Fi networks or SoHo environments that are easy to install and self-adapting. This session will describe Wi-FI EasyMesh and the Multi-AP specification, and the market it is trying to reach. It will also show some of the most important results of the ARRIS market research on "Connectivity and Entertainment", which had more than 20,000 respondents.
|12:30 Hrs -13:15 Hrs|| HIGH SPEED NETWORKS, TRANSPORTATION AND GENERATION OF CONTENT IN CLOUD |
Tiivii is a product designed to automate the generation of content and the audiovisual production of events. This interface allows you to create an automatic internet TV channel without having to invest in technical means or move a device to the recording location. With tiivii, it is possible to retransmit any event for those people who can not attend or who want to see it again, tiivii is automatic. It works without camera operators or filmmakers. Record, perform and automatically produce a video that can be broadcast live or on demand. Thanks to the technology, tiivii is an economically competitive product, able to follow the action autonomously, perform panned sequences and automatic zooms. It has advanced features such as: multicamera, production tables operated in the cloud and accessibility through the internet or the insertion of markers, graphics, advertising and voice-over automatically in real time.

|09:00 Hrs a 09:15 Hrs|| INTRODUCTION ANDINA LINK |
|09:00 Hrs a 09:15 Hrs|| SCTE ISBE INTRODUCCIÓN |
|09:15 Hrs a 10:00 Hrs|| THE EVOLUTION OF ACCESS NETWORKS |
The new capacity and requirements in access networks, explores the new competitive scenarios of (DAA / R-PHY / R-MAC).
|10:00 Hrs a 10:45 Hrs|| BEYOND DOCSIS 3.1 - SENDING FTTH |
It is really valuable to invest in network updates vs in building a new network. The technology explored will be, HFC vs. Fiber Deep, hand in hand with xPON.
|10:45 Hrs a 11:00 Hrs|| Break |
|11:00 Hrs a 11:45 Hrs|| QoS TO THE LAST CONNECTIVITY |
The connectivity of WIFI in the lacquers continues being the weak point of each client in networks. We will explore the advantages of WIFI and PNM in the customer network.
|11:45 Hrs a 12:30 Hrs|| SECURITY IN CABLE NETWORKS |
Exploring the elements of cybersecurity and network security
|12:30 Hrs a 13:15 Hrs|| DOCSIS 3.1, THE SHORTEST ROAD TO GIGABIT SERVICES |
The adoption of OTT video services in SD, HD and now 4K has generated a bandwidth demand never before seen by last-mile data service providers, this exponential increase in demand moves them to look for profitable alternatives for increase it preferably reusing the infrastructure already installed and in operation, so DOCSIS 3.1 opens up a world of possibilities, taking better advantage of the HFC network and offering more profitable commercial opportunities
|13:15 Hrs a 13:30 Hrs|| Q&A AND CLOSURE |
